    Your Library will host a Scholastic Book Fair in the Jones Meeting Center on Wednesday-Friday, August 5-7 from 3-6 p.m., and Saturday, August 8 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. This event is open to the public, so all families are invited to shop for new books, colorful school supplies, decorative posters, and more. Plus, kids can spend the Scholastic book bucks they earned during Summer Reading! Scholastic book bucks are sponsored by Friends of the Johnson City Public Library. All proceeds from the book fair will be used toward future children's programs and services.

    A regular performer at festivals across the nation, Donald Davis tells true stories based on the better-than-fiction verities of human life. Davis grew up in a family of storytelling folks in the mountains of Western North Carolina and has continued their tradition throughout his career. He has performed throughout the U.S. and abroad, authored 19 books, and released over 50 audio recordings. Davis is a recipient of the NSN ORACLE Circle of Excellence and Lifetime Achievement awards. Renfrow was this year's featured artist, leading campers through their creations and inspiring them with her own artistry.     Children ages 5-12 can register for a 15-minute time slot to read to a trained listening dog. They read aloud in the Library's Storytime Room between 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month or from 4-5 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. In an effort to maximize the number of participants served by this program, time slots are limited to one per child for each event.     Children ages 5-12 can register for a 15-minute time slot to read to a trained listening dog. They read aloud in the Library's Storytime Room between 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month or from 4-5 p.m. on the first Monday of each month.     Children ages 5-12 can register for a 15-minute time slot to read to a trained listening dog. Experience what it was like for the various families that lived at Tipton-Haynes during the Eighteenth through Twentieth Centuries. Come see the glow of oil lamps and the smell of holiday greenery that will adorn the historic house.
