The Civic Chorale announces its upcoming concerts entitled Visions of Light, The concerts will take place Saturday, October 19 at 7:00 PM at St. John's Episcopal Church, Johnson City, and Sunday, October 20 at First Presbyterian Church, also in Johnson City. While no tickets are required, there is a $15 suggested donation at the door. The Sunday concert will be specifically geared toward including and engaging children, helping them learn to appreciate the choral arts. Join us on a guided hike up to the park high point on top of Birchfield Camp, 4,310 feet. The high point is the highest point in the state park system. Along our hike we will notice the change from cove mountain forest to northern hardwoods. We will discuss the geography and hydrology of Rocky Fork. This hike is considered strenuous and is suitable for experienced hikers.We are expecting peak fall colors on our hike. $5.00 per person, sign up at the park website to reserve your spot.

Come and enjoy an 1862 rendition of a Haynes family Christmas. You will tour the house and watch as the Haynes family prepare for Christmas amidst the Civil War. Treats will be cooked on the open hearth of our cabin. Reservations for tours are appreciated. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for children twelve and under.
