Enjoy a night out watching movies and participating in crafts upstairs in Numan's Roost! Crafting items are provided, but anyone is welcome to bring their own arts and crafts materials if they desire.

We will meet at the Philosopher's House for a tea of your choice, then head out to the park (weather permitting) for Yang 24 (Beijing Style) Tai Chi. Our warmup will include some Qigong and exercises influenced by martial arts style like Bajiquan and Baguazhang. How to register: Drop-in, no registration needed. April Armstrong is an award-winning actress, singer, and storyteller who weaves melodies and words into her multi-cultural folktales and historic accounts. April’s journey into storytelling began in the third grade, when she was invited back by the fifth grade to reprise her solo from the school play. Her reward? Cake, ice cream — and a calling she’s followed ever since. She has performed at numerous festivals, theaters, and schools nationwide, including the famed Apollo Theater in Harlem. Armstrong is the recipient of the National Storytellers Network’s 2020 J.J. Reneaux Emerging Artist and the 2015 Bronx BRIO awards for Storytelling, and her debut CD, The Cat Came Back: Stories and Songs with a Jazzy Twist, won a Parents Choice Silver Award. This event will be held on the first sunday of every month, with the goal of keeping Rocky Fork's trails and creeks free of litter. Meet Park Ranger Cory Franklin at the Park Ranger Station (280 Jennie Moore Rd.). From there we will go to our cleanup location. Rocky Fork has the cleanest water of any tributary in the Nolichucky River Watershed. With 2,000 acres of park land surrounded by 8,000 acres of National Forest. We aim to keep Rocky Fork pristine and would love to have your help! Gloves and trash bags will be provided but feel free to bring your own supplies. All ages welcome!
