The Tipton-Haynes Historical Association, Inc. will be hosting the Peddler’s Post vendor flea market on May 2. The day will center around the local artisan as they present their hard work and products. From 9am to 6pm the public can browse through the numerous and various merchant booths while several food trucks/vendors will be on site throughout the day. There will also be local historic based demonstrators showcasing their talents. There is no admission as we hope that you will help us contribute to and aid our local artisans and community. This event will be held on the first sunday of every month, with the goal of keeping Rocky Fork's trails and creeks free of litter. Meet Park Ranger Cory Franklin at the Park Ranger Station (280 Jennie Moore Rd.). From there we will go to our cleanup location. Rocky Fork has the cleanest water of any tributary in the Nolichucky River Watershed. With 2,000 acres of park land surrounded by 8,000 acres of National Forest. Some Old Friends are a local band from Carter County travelling the region entertaining with covers of many genres covering many decades of music. Their original music is highlighted throughout their sets, some already published on Spotify. Country, rock, and blues drive our sound but we have leaned into the eclectic as well. This event will be held on the first sunday of every month, with the goal of keeping Rocky Fork's trails and creeks free of litter. Meet Park Ranger Cory Franklin at the Park Ranger Station (280 Jennie Moore Rd.). From there we will go to our cleanup location. Rocky Fork has the cleanest water of any tributary in the Nolichucky River Watershed. With 2,000 acres of park land surrounded by 8,000 acres of National Forest. We aim to keep Rocky Fork pristine and would love to have your help! Gloves and trash bags will be provided but feel free to bring your own supplies. All ages welcome!

You can also try out the Library's new Infinity Game Table, a giant touch-screen packed with classics like Clue, Operation, and Candy Land. This event will be held on the first sunday of every month, with the goal of keeping Rocky Fork's trails and creeks free of litter. Meet Park Ranger Cory Franklin at the Park Ranger Station (280 Jennie Moore Rd.). From there we will go to our cleanup location. Rocky Fork has the cleanest water of any tributary in the Nolichucky River Watershed. With 2,000 acres of park land surrounded by 8,000 acres of National Forest. We aim to keep Rocky Fork pristine and would love to have your help! Gloves and trash bags will be provided but feel free to bring your own supplies. All ages welcome!

Want to learn how to use the longsword? Here's your chance! We teach intro to longsword on the first Monday of every month. We meet upstairs at Mulligan's Irish Pub. Class starts at 6:30 pm. You can build creations using LEGO blocks and other construction materials, which will then be displayed in the Children's Library. This program is facilitated by the Johnson City Lions Club.
In Art Explorers, children ages 8-12 learn about famous artists and their distinct styles, sparking discovery of art history as well as creativity. Young art enthusiasts will then complete their very own masterpieces inspired by that session’s featured art style. Some Old Friends are a local band from Carter County travelling the region entertaining with covers of many genres covering many decades of music. Their original music is highlighted throughout their sets, some already published on Spotify. Country, rock, and blues drive our sound but we have leaned into the eclectic as well. Charlie Maples is a genre-crossing musical ensemble based in East Tennessee that blends elements of jazz, R&B, and pop-soul. Formed in late 2020, the group is led by singer-songwriter and arranger Erin Dalton, who provides lead vocals and plays the trumpet. The band's name was inspired by a stray cat from the region.

They read aloud in the Library's Storytime Room between 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month or from 4-5 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. This event will be held on the first sunday of every month, with the goal of keeping Rocky Fork's trails and creeks free of litter. Meet Park Ranger Cory Franklin at the Park Ranger Station (280 Jennie Moore Rd.). From there we will go to our cleanup location. Rocky Fork has the cleanest water of any tributary in the Nolichucky River Watershed. With 2,000 acres of park land surrounded by 8,000 acres of National Forest. We aim to keep Rocky Fork pristine and would love to have your help! Gloves and trash bags will be provided but feel free to bring your own supplies. All ages welcome!

Some Old Friends are a local band from Carter County travelling the region entertaining with covers of many genres covering many decades of music. Their original music is highlighted throughout their sets, some already published on Spotify. Country, rock, and blues drive our sound but we have leaned into the eclectic as well. They are currently a duet but have added friends in the past to give larger shows for larger venues but definitely shine in smaller interactive environments.
