The Appalachian Men’s Ensemble will present “Take a Hike,” a program of music inspired by nature, at two locations in May. The first concert will be Thursday, May 14, at 7:30 pm at the Gray United Methodist Church, 2108 Oak Street in Gray. The second concert will be Friday, May 15, at 7:30 pm at Central Presbyterian Church, 331 Euclid Avenue in Bristol, VA. The concert program includes well-known favorite pieces such as “Wild Mountain Thyme,” “Edelweiss”, and “Climb Every Mountain.” In addition, the ensemble will perform several pieces by local composers, including an original composition called “Leaf” by Evelyn Pursley-Kopitzke and a new arrangement of “The Happy Wanderer” by Don Brandon.
