    We are excited to announce our sixth annual Pub Crawl and Poetry Contest will take place on Thursday, October 29th. It will feature the finalists of our contest reading their poems at various breweries and locations in Downtown Johnson City. Please see our other posts for details about our theme, Art Begets Art, and our guidelines for submissions. Locations and judges to be announced soon! The readings at each stop will be limited to the contest's finalists and honorary readers, but the pub crawl event is open to the public. Please come support local poets and invite your friends!     We'll be fine and dandy... because it's time to start thinking about parade season! And this year, we’re putting a little Dolly in your Christmas with our 2026 Johnson City Christmas Parade theme: Holly Dolly Christmas! This year’s parade will honor the life, legacy, and unmistakable Christmas spirit of the late Dolly Parton, a true Tennessee icon who reminded us all to dream big, love bigger, and always make room for a little sparkle. So pull out the rhinestones, the big hair, all the Dolly magic you can find, and get ready for parade applications to open on October 1 at 10 a.m. And mark your calendar for Sat., Dec. 5 at 10:30am for the parade!
