Brews & Boos is set in Jimmy Neil Smith Park, behind the International Storytelling Center. Attendees will enjoy a series of ghost stories featuring world-renowned storytellers Michael Reno Harrell and Jessica Piscitelli Robinson.

Michael Reno Harrell brings a natural gift for storytelling rooted in the Southern Appalachian Mountains, where storytelling is as integral to the culture as its music. His original stories and songs blend seamlessly into narratives that explore shared emotions, experiences, laughter, and nostalgia. Through his stories, songs, and artwork, Michael captures both the Southern experience and the broader American story. Everything centers on one thing: story.

Jessica Piscitelli Robinson is the Founding Executive Director of Better Said Than Done, producer of the Women’s Storytelling Festival and storytelling events throughout Northern Virginia and beyond. A nationally recognized storyteller, Jessica has performed at major storytelling festivals and on WGBH’s Stories from the Stage and the Risk! Podcast. A 2023 ORACLE Award recipient, she received the National Storytelling Network’s ORACLE for Distinguished National Service in 2026. She also teaches storytelling workshops for universities, businesses, and community organizations. Jessica is the author of Stages: My Life in Stories.

Main Street Café & Catering will serve fall-themed beer and cider, and food will be available.

Tickets for this fundraising event are $20 in advance and $25 on the day of the event and can be purchased online at Jonesborough.com/boo or by calling the Jonesborough Visitors Center at 423.753.1010.

Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, as it is ground seating only. This performance is best suited for kids 10+.

Check-in will be held on the steps of Jimmy Neil Smith Park, adjacent to the Storytelling Center Plaza, beginning at 5:30 p.m. If you plan to purchase alcohol, you MUST have your I.D.
