Children ages 5-12 can register for a 15-minute time slot to read to a trained listening dog. They read aloud in the Library's Storytime Room between 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month or from 4-5 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. In an effort to maximize the number of participants served by this program, time slots are limited to one per child for each event. We will meet this fall in the Library's Jones Meeting Center at 6 p.m. on the following Mondays: September 15, October 20, and November 17. Participants will hear book talks on different graphic novels, participate in drawing exercises, and have opportunities to share art and recommendations with other graphic novel enthusiasts! Bring your fiber arts supplies to the Library on the second and fourth Fridays of each month from 2:30-4:30 p.m. for our Fiber Arts Group. Drop in with your current project and enjoy a creative and supportive environment where you can socialize and learn from fellow fiber art enthusiasts.
Calling all young Pokémon fans! Come to the Library's Jones Meeting Center on the last Saturday of every month from 2-3 p.m. to trade Pokémon cards with other kids. (If you have other types of trading cards, those are welcome too!) No registration required. Remember that the Library is not responsible for participants' personal property. Families are invited to the Children's Library one night per month for game night fun. The Library will provide board and video games to learn, play, and enjoy together. You can also try out the Library's new Infinity Game Table, a giant touch-screen packed with classics like Clue, Operation, and Candy Land. Family Game Night will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on the following Mondays this fall: September 8, October 27, and November 10. No registration is required for this drop-in event.
