An Acoustic Evening with John Anderson

Niswonger Performing Arts Center 212 Tusculum Blvd, Greeneville, TN, United States

As a child growing up in Apopka, Florida, John Anderson remembers humming along to the tone of his father’s boat motor, possibly igniting a spark that led to the start of his music career. Anderson performed solo around Florida before moving to Nashville where he worked in construction. Ironically, he was on the roofing crew for the new Grand Ole Opry House before landing a contract with Warner Bros. Records. John started cranking out memorable hits such as “I’m Just an Old Chunk of Coal (But I’m Gonna Be a Diamond Someday),” “Wild and Blue,” “I Just Came Home to Count the Memories,” “1959,” “Black Sheep,” and, of course, his signature hit “Swingin’.” His career cooled off but saw a...

Film Farm Presents: My Dinner With Andre

Wallace Theatre 215 E Main St, Johnson City, TN, United States

In this captivating and philosophical film directed by Louis Malle, actor and playwright Wallace Shawn sits down with his friend the theater director André Gregory at a restaurant on New York’s Upper West Side, and the pair proceed through an alternately whimsical and despairing confessional about love, death, money, and all the superstition in between. Playing variations on their own New York–honed personas, Shawn and Gregory, who also cowrote the screenplay, dive in with introspective intellectual gusto, and Malle captures it all with a delicate, artful detachment. A fascinating freeze-frame of cosmopolitan culture, My Dinner with André remains a unique work in cinema history.

They have 6 studio albums available at all musical outlets. “The Western North Carolina quintet is this band of melodic pirates, roaring down the highways and backroads of Southern Appalachia in search of a stage to play, perhaps another kindred spirit to collaborate with in the sacred art of songwriting and creating something (beautiful and permanent) from nothing...

Bad Wolves

Capone's 227 E. Main St, Johnson City, TN, United States

Bad Wolves refuse to follow. Instead, the platinum-certified Los Angeles band—John Boecklin , Daniel “DL” Laskiewicz , Doc Coyle , Max Karon , and Kyle Konkiel —circumvent convention by stretching the boundaries of hard rock with earthquaking heaviness, enigmatic experimentation, and enthralling melodies. Bulldozing boundaries is nothing new for the boys though… Bad Wolves arrived with the rarity and the force of a lightning bolt in 2018. This collective of tried-and-true musicians rallied around an unconventional vision for heavy music, grafting rafter-reaching hooks to pit-splitting riffs and mind-bending rhythms with a penchant for unexpected twists and turns. Their full-length debut, Disobey , bowed in the Top 25 of the Billboard 200 and delivered a platinum single and a gold single....
