Spooky season has arrived in Johnson City! 🎃 Whether your idea of Halloween includes costumes and candy, pumpkins and hayrides, or a haunted attraction after dark, there’s a way to celebrate.

Treats on the Streets
🎃 No Scares, Just Treats
Looking for more treats than tricks? Start at Paradise Acres, where fall brings pumpkins and gourds, Scarecrow Alley, hayrides, seasonal flowers, and mini golf.
On October 10, head to Tipton-Haynes State Historic Site for Stories from the Pumpkin Patch, featuring fall folklore and family-friendly tales alongside crafts, face painting, a hayride, hot apple cider, vendors, food trucks, and a trip into the site’s spooky cave.
Spooky season gets a scientific twist at Hands On! Discovery Center’s BOO!SEUM on October 23. Costumes are encouraged for an evening of experiments, candy, crafts, games, and museum exploration.
On October 29, costumes, candy, and trains come together for Track or Treat at the Johnson City Railroad Experience, bringing a Halloween twist to this downtown attraction.
Round out the month with Treats on the Streets also on October 29, when participating Downtown Johnson City businesses welcome costumed trick-or-treaters for an evening of Halloween fun.

👻 Turn Up the Spooky
Ready for something scarier?
At Roan Valley Farms, brave four haunted experiences, including a haunted corn maze, hayride, Christmas tree trail, and orchard on Friday and Saturday nights through October 31. Younger visitors can opt for the less-scary Kids Maze.
Nearby Fender’s Farm in Jonesborough turns up the fear with the WQUT Field of Screams and Insane Inn & Patches Penthouse on select nights throughout October. These attractions aren’t recommended for children, so save this stop for the brave!

🍺 Boos, Brews & Grown-Up Fun
October 10 brings two Oktoberfest celebrations to Johnson City. Raise a glass at Johnson City Brewing Company on Walnut Street or head to Off Leash Social for German food, Paulaner beer, a stein-holding contest, giveaways, and football on the big screen.
Then on October 17, nearby Jonesborough combines ghost stories with fall beer and cider during Brews and Boos, offering another way to enjoy spooky season after dark.
