Families Living Greener

Families can celebrate Earth Day at a workshop about sustainability and living greener on Tuesday, April 22 at 6 p.m. in the Library's Jones Meeting Center. Discover simple ways to make eco-friendly choices as a family, then create a fun recycled craft together. This program is a collaboration with the Appalachian Resource Conservation and Development Council. There is no registration for this program. Pick up a ticket at the Children's Desk when you arrive.

Middle Grade Graphic Novel Club

Children ages 8-12 are invited to explore the wide world of graphic novels together! We will meet this spring in the Library's Jones Meeting Center at 6 p.m. on the following Mondays: March 17 and April 21. Participants will hear book talks on different graphic novels, participate in drawing exercises, and have opportunities to share art and recommendations with other graphic novel enthusiasts! Fiddle N’ Fun with Mister Joel

On Tuesday, April 15 at 6 p.m., ages 6-12 are invited to a lively music workshop with singing, dancing, guitar, and percussion in the Library's Jones Meeting Center. Kids will try out fiddling techniques using 'Fiddlestix' and learn violin basics through original songs, covers, parodies and listening exercises. This program is facilitated by independent music education program Fiddle N' Fun. No registration is required, but space is limited and available on a first come, first served basis. Pick up tickets at the Children's Desk when you arrive.

Family Game Night

Building with the Lions

Families are invited to drop by the Library's Jones Meeting Center the second Saturday of every month between 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. for Building with the Lions. You can build creations using LEGO blocks and other construction materials. Your creations will be displayed in the Children's Library. This program is facilitated by the Johnson City Lions Club.
