Teens 12-18 can bring your friends and your homework to the Library's Teen Space each Monday after school from 3-5 p.m. to work on papers and projects. Library staff is available to help find research materials and resources, and snacks are provided
Families are invited to drop by the Library's Jones Meeting Center the second Saturday of every month between 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. for Building with the Lions. You can build creations using LEGO blocks and other construction materials. Your creations will be displayed in the Children's Library. This program is facilitated by the Johnson City Lions Club.
In Art Explorers, children ages 8-12 learn about famous artists and their distinct styles, sparking discovery of art history as well as creativity. Young art enthusiasts will then complete their very own masterpieces inspired by that session’s featured art style. This fall, we will meet at 4 p.m. in the Library's Jones Meeting Center on the following Fridays: September 12, October 10, and November 14. Give your child an early start to music appreciation! Ages 3-5 will build musical literacy and increase gross motor skills through rhythmic activities and songs led by a member of the Johnson City Symphony Orchestra during Little Musicians. The program lasts 45 minutes and will be held at 10:30 a.m. in the Library’s Jones Meeting Center on the following Fridays this month: September 12, 19, and 26. Little Listeners storytime is designed for ages 3-5 years. The program lasts for 30 minutes and consists of longer stories, songs, and rhymes with a craft time afterward. Little Listeners meets at 11 a.m. in the Library’s Storytime Room on the following Wednesdays and Thursdays this month: September 10-11, 17-18*, and 24-25. Choose which day suits your schedule best to attend each week. There is no registration for this program. Pick up a ticket at the Children's Desk when you arrive. *On September 17 and 18, we will have a special guest during Little Listeners! Author Constance Lombardo will be reading her newest children's book, "Itty Bitty Betty Blob Makes a Splash."

Read & Romp meets at 10:30 a.m. on the following Wednesdays and Thursdays this month: September 10-11, 17-18, and 24-25. The program is held outdoors in King Commons Natural Adventure Area* across the street from the Library. *Check our Facebook page after 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays and Thursdays for an update during inclement weather.

Families are invited to the Children's Library one night per month for game night fun. The Library will provide board and video games to learn, play, and enjoy together. You can also try out the Library's new Infinity Game Table, a giant touch-screen packed with classics like Clue, Operation, and Candy Land. Family Game Night will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. on the following Mondays this fall: September 8, October 27, and November 10. No registration is required for this drop-in event.
Children ages 5-12 can register for a 15-minute time slot to read to a trained listening dog. This month, they read aloud in the Library's Storytime Room between 4-5 p.m. on Monday, September 8 and from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. on Saturday, September 20. In an effort to maximize the number of participants served by this program, time slots are limited to one per child for each event. Calling all young Pokémon fans! Come to the Library's Jones Meeting Center on the last Saturday of every month from 2-3 p.m. to trade Pokémon cards with other kids. (If you have other types of trading cards, those are welcome too!) No registration required. Remember that the Library is not responsible for participants' personal property. Please keep your cards with you at all times!
