Located just 40 minutes from Johnson City, Watauga Lake is nestled in the Appalachian mountains. Watauga Lake is know for its stunning scenery and beautiful blue water with more than half the shoreline located within the Cherokee National Forest. There are several public boat ramps, access points and marinas with nominal fees of $5 or less. Amenities include camping, power boating, swimming, canoeing, kayaking, sailing, water skiing, jet skiing, fishing, and wakeboarding.
