WFR Recert – Oct 27-29, Rocky Fork State Park, TN
Current WFRs and WEMTs who have completed a nationally recognized WFR or WEMT course can recertify by taking our Wilderness First Responder Recertification Course. The WFR Recert is a three-day program designed to refresh information and recertify the attendees’ existing certification. We believe that three days is an ideal length of time to practice your skills and refresh your abilities, something difficult to accomplish in shorter recerts. The main elements of the course are skills labs and scenarios with little lecture time. Upon successful completion participants are recertified for three-years. Attendees must present proof of their current WFR or WEMT certification to the instructor before being issued their Recertification card(s). We accept Sierra Rescue, WMI, WMA, WMTC, SOLO, and DMM cards. Any WFR cards issued from another company need to be cleared by us prior to registration. If you have a certification that expires before the WFR Recertification Course, contact them to request an extension. CPR/AED is not included but is scheduled the evening of the first day of WFR Recert for those needing it. Select CPR Add-On during checkout.
Our credentialing partner, Sierra Rescue, is among the major wilderness medicine certifying bodies in the U.S. and has been providing world-class training for over 20 years. Their Wilderness Medicine Courses are the recognized industry standard for those who work and play in the outdoors including outdoor professionals, backcountry trip leaders, camp counselors, mountain guides, river guides, ski patrollers, medical professionals and outdoor recreationalists. Our WFR instructors, Randy Manuel and Adam Herzog, are highly accomplished medical professionals with decades of experience both as educators and in the field.
Course is being held at the Eastman Lodge in Kingsport, TN in partnership with the Appalachian Paddling Enthusiasts and Tennessee Eastman Hiking & Canoe Club. Lodging is available nearby. For more information and to register, go to https://www.nolilearn.org/…/wilderness-first-responder….

WFR Feedback:
“I saved someone’s life yesterday and wanted to thank you. Please understand that they are alive today because you gave me the knowledge and just as importantly the confidence to intervene when it really mattered.”
“I have a learning disability and have never done well in school. I’ve learned more from you this week than I’ve ever learned before. You are the best teacher I’ve ever had.”
“You explained difficult topics in a way that I understood but it never felt like you were “dumbing down” the information.”
