Join us in Historic Jonesborough to kick off the holiday season with the Sugar Plum Sip & Stroll on Friday, November 29th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Attendees will enjoy 10+ Nutcracker and Christmas-themed beverages and small-bite tasting stops. Close the night with the magical Christmas Tree Lighting at 6 p.m., followed by a big holiday twist.
A few treat and drink stops to look forward to are Sugar Plum Fairy cake pops, Frozen Santa Clausmopolitans, and North Pole peppermint pretzels. Each treat and drink will be Nutcracker and Christmas-themed. There will be both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available.
Following the Sugar Plum Sip & Stroll, Downtown Jonesborough will host the ceremonial Lighting of the Tree with programming beginning at 6 p.m. Attendees will be welcomed by Mayor Chuck Vest and enjoy performances by David Crockett High School’s Madrigal Singers, the voices of elementary school students from Lamar and Grandview Schools. A reading of A Visit From St. Nicholas will be told by performance artist Paul Harris. Each family will receive a candle to be lit as the town goes dark in anticipation of the thousands of lights that will make the 60 ft. Frasier Fir tree aglow.
Tickets can be picked up in front of the courthouse from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. 10 tickets (non-alcoholic) are $15 and a pack of 10 tickets plus 5 alcoholic drink stops included are $20. For more details and to purchase tickets, visit
