The May readaloud event for the Listen Up Book Club – Join us at the amazing cozy Philosopher’s House for a fresh readaloud (May’s selection is The Trumpet of the Swan by E. B. White – a novel I’ve never read before but is much-treasured by many)! For this read-aloud book club, no one has to read anything in advance, and there’s nothing to prep – just show up as you are (though you may enjoy bringing a handicraft for your listening time?), grab a snack, and enjoy the weirdly wholesome community of a read aloud. The format: I read the first part of a “classic-ish novel” aloud for the group (one I’ve never read before, so I’m experiencing it brand new for the added surprise!) with some breaks for random group discussion and an “intermission” halfway through. This would be perfect for listener crafts, mending clothes, or coloring books – and there will also be some socializing before and after, with of course LITERATURE DISCUSSION (if you like).
