Participants taking the two-day Level 1 Instructor Course learn Leave No Trace skills, ethics, and techniques for educating others about these low-impact practices. Leave No Trace Instructor Courses are a vital component of the national Leave No Trace program. It is designed for educators, guides, agency employees, other outdoor professionals and anyone interested in learning more about minimum impact skills and ethics and how to help educate others.
This course covers the Seven Principles of Leave No Trace as well as techniques for disseminating these low impact skills. The main objective of this course is to train attendees on how to model and present the ethics to others. Various teaching methods will be introduced and discussed, and each participant will have the opportunity to present one or more of the principles to the class using innovative and engaging approaches.
Upon successful completion, participants will become a certified Leave No Trace Level 1 Instructor and will be equipped to
lead Leave No Trace Skills Courses and Workshops.
