On March 26, 1849, Henry Brown was conveyed from Richmond, VA to Philadelphia, PA in a box that was 3 feet long and 2 feet, 6 inches deep.
Journey back to the historical era of the Underground Railroad as Bubby Norfolk breathes life into this amazing story along with other tales of ordinary people taking extra-ordinary risks in the name of freedom.
Before the show, enjoy the fourth annual Juneteenth exhibit, co-sponsored by the Fischman Art Gallery and Umoja. Over a dozen artists from our region will be showing paintings, jewelry, ceramics, and other forms of artwork to express their personal and cultural stories.
Light refreshments will be offered before the stories begin.
