The April read aloud event for the Listen Up Book Club – Join us at the amazing cozy Philosopher’s House for a fresh read aloud (another book I’ve never read but has been recommended to me for wholesome humor and an NC writer to boot – Walking Across Egypt)! For this read-aloud book club, no one has to read anything in advance, and there’s nothing to prep – just show up as you are (but you may enjoy bringing a handicraft for your listening time?), grab a snack, and enjoy the weirdly wholesome community of a read aloud. The format: I read the first part of a “classic novel” aloud for the group (one I’ve never read before, so I’m experiencing it brand new too!) with some breaks for random group discussion and an “intermission” halfway through. This would be perfect for listener crafts, mending clothes, or coloring books – and there will also be some socializing before and after, with of course LITERATURE DISCUSSION (if you like).
