Fall Hike to the High Point

Rocky Fork State Park 501 Rocky Fork Rd, Flag Pond, TN, United States

Join us on a guided hike up to the park high point on top of Birchfield Camp, 4,310 feet. The high point is the highest point in the state park system. Along our hike we will notice the change from cove mountain forest to northern hardwoods. We will discuss the geography and hydrology of Rocky Fork. This hike is considered strenuous and is suitable for experienced hikers.We are expecting peak fall colors on our hike. $5.00 per person, sign up at the park website to reserve your spot.

Harvest Festival

Rocky Mount State Historic Site 200 Hyder Hill Rd, Piney Flats, TN, United States

Join the Cobb family and their friends as they celebrate the harvest. Living history tours of the Cobb farm will take place all day. Demonstrations on site will include blacksmithing, fireplace cooking, apple butter making, apple cider pressing, and much more. Stop and smell the biscuits baking in the kitchen or give the apple butter a stir. Toys and games, including a sack races, corn hole, & 18th century games will be available for all ages.
