Ivy Sheppard began collecting records and sounds of her southwest Virginia home at the age of 4. Today her collection includes thousands of 78rpm records, and she’ll be sharing those recordings Thursday night at the Down Home. Sheppard says. “I’ve got lots of small label, regionally produced records that there might be only one or two copies of–music recorded right here in Johnson City--from Clarence Greene to the Bailey Brothers.
