Fischman Gallery presents an artist reception for Holston Valley folk potter Rack Cross on Tuesday, May 19, 2026 from 4 pm to 6 pm in the Front Gallery. Cross places pottery on the scene as both witness and evidence of the greatest transformation in the history of the Southeastern United States. The exhibition features a sample of wood fired salt glazed stoneware works examining how Appalachian culture adapted after modernization brought by the Tennessee Valley Authority Act. Bil Lepp is a nationally touring storyteller, humorist, comedian, and bearer of other synonyms that mean “funny,” earning the appreciation of listeners from all walks of life.
