Join us for TN Serves & National Public Lands Day as we work together to improve Rocky Fork’s ADA-accessible backcountry campsite. With your help, we’ll make this special campsite more welcoming and durable for future visitors.
This year’s projects include:
Filling tent pads with rocks
Constructing a boardwalk
Installing handrails and runners
Assisting with general campsite improvements
Some tasks will require heavy lifting, but there will be jobs suitable for all skill levels, everyone can contribute!
What to Bring
Gloves (some will be available)
Water and snacks
Closed-toed shoes
Sun protection
All tools and materials will be provided.
We’ll be working along moderate terrain at the Rocky Fork backcountry campsite.
Important Information:
All participants must sign a waiver.
Any person under 18 must have a waiver signed by a parent or guardian.

Directions:
From Johnson City/Erwin: Take I-26 South to Exit 43. Follow the brown signs to Lamar Alexander Rocky Fork State Park. Turn right on TN-352 for approximately 6 miles, then turn right on Rocky Fork Road. Continue 0.8 miles to the gravel parking lot.
From Asheville/Mars Hill, NC: Take I-26 North to Exit 50, the first exit in Tennessee. Turn left on Upper Higgins Road (0.6 miles), right on Old Asheville Highway (2.2 miles), then left on Rocky Fork Road (0.8 miles) to the gravel parking lot.
