Ever wanted to try your hand at fly fishing? Join us for a beginner-friendly workshop where you’ll learn the basics of this timeless mountain sport while discovering the story of Rocky Fork’s native brook trout.
During this 4-hour course, participants will:
Learn how to set up a fly rod, tie essential knots, and choose the right flies
Practice casting techniques for small Appalachian streams
Gain hands-on fishing experience in Rocky Fork’s pristine waters
Explore the conservation story of brook trout. Tennessee’s only native trout, whose local populations are a mix of native Southern Appalachian fish and early Pennsylvania introductions from the 1900s
Fall is brook trout spawning season, when these vibrant fish take on brilliant red and orange colors. We
