SUMMARY:Dr. Julia Escobar Guest Artist Flute Recital
DESCRIPTION:*PLEASE NOTE THIS EVENT TAKES PLACE IN MATHES HALL!\nJulia Escobar recently signed a contract with renowned music publisher Theodore Presser Company for her set of arrangements for piccolo and piano. Stemming from her doctoral final degree project\, “The Lyrical Piccolo\,” this collection of works gained inspiration from the work of trailblazing women composers of the Romantic era. A formal release date for the arrangements is forthcoming. In anticipation of the works’ publication\, Julia was also recently awarded a grant via competitive adjudication from the Chicago Flute Club to record the arrangements as a part of the Florence Nelson Leadership in Music Grant. Julia assumes an interim position as Instructor of Flute at Southwestern University in fall 2025\, in addition to her work as a performing artist and pedagogue in the Austin\, Texas area.
