SUMMARY:Rocky Fork Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:This event will be held on the first sunday of every month\, with the goal of keeping Rocky Fork’s trails and creeks free of litter. Meet Park Ranger Cory Franklin at the Park Ranger Station (280 Jennie Moore Rd.). From there we will go to our cleanup location.\nRocky Fork has the cleanest water of any tributary in the Nolichucky River Watershed. With 2\,000 acres of park land surrounded by 8\,000 acres of National Forest. We aim to keep Rocky Fork pristine and would love to have your help!\nGloves and trash bags will be provided but feel free to bring your own supplies.\nAll ages welcome!

DESCRIPTION:𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐥𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐬𝐦𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐩 𝐢𝐬 𝐎𝐏𝐄𝐍!Join us for a hands-on blacksmith workshop at Rocky Mount. Students age 9 and up learn basic and beginner blacksmithing techniques. The session emphasizes 18th-century techniques with modern and colonial methods and guides participants through creating modern metalwork in the same vein as they did 250 years ago.\nWhat to expect:\nWorking with a fully functional forge lead by Rocky Mount’s established Blacksmith.\nLearn how to craft unique creations in a similar vein to those from the 1700s.\nGates will open 30 minutes prior to class start\nPlease allot enough time in order to get checked in and meet your instructor.\nWhat to know before registration:\nParticipants must be age 9+ for safety purposes\nClosed-toed shoes required.\nWe recommend clothing that is easy to move in.\nIf the weather does not co-operate and the workshop must be rescheduled; you will be refunded in full.\nPre-registration is required due to limited workspace and small class size.
